From Pennsylvania to Washington, D.C.

During a summer or semester with The Washington Center, you’ll:

  • Work Monday through Thursday at an internship tailored to your interests.

  • Learn to optimize your strengths, navigate the job market and build your brand through career advising.

  • Build a strong professional network at your internship, TWC events and other opportunities around D.C.

  • Share this experience with interns from Pennsylvania and across the U.S. and live in apartment-style housing.

Many of our more than 3,000 TWC alumni from Pennsylvania tell us that their internship was the best, most valuable experience they had in college.

State Funding for Pennsylvania Students

A D.C. internship through The Washington Center is an investment in your future, whether you plan to move into your career or go on to graduate school. It’s hard to put a price on the value of that investment, but if you are a Pennsylvania resident who attends a school in the state, you may be eligible to receive up to $7,500 toward your participation in TWC's internship program.

Before coming to TWC, I didn’t have a ton of career direction. I was apprehensive about stepping so far outside of my comfort zone and living in a big city. But being right in the heart of Washington, D.C., I’ve discovered my niche working in juvenile justice issues and helping youth communities. I now have a clear path. I wouldn’t have figured that out if it weren’t for this experience.
