Funded Professional Experience in D.C.

You're invited to explore the protection of U.S. interests at home, abroad and online with The Washington Center’s National Security seminar.

Through this program (which is fully funded for select state residents), you’ll dive into the national security challenges facing the world today and see how you can explore a future career in this field.

Fully furnished student housing in the heart of Washington, D.C. 

Fully Funded Opportunity

If you are a state resident of Arkansas, Maryland or Pennsylvania, your participation in this seminar could be fully funded through state scholarships.

These scholarships cover the cost of the program and student housing at TWC’s Academic and Residential Facility. Students will also be given a stipend to help cover food and travel expenses.

Housing & Living

You’ll stay in TWC’s Residential and Academic Facility in the heart of Washington, D.C. Most participants share a fully furnished two-bedroom/two-bath apartment with three other participants.

You’ll be within walking distance of the National Mall and the best that D.C. has to offer (not to mention essentials like grocery stores and the Metro).

Academic Credit

Our seminars are designed to qualify for academic credit at many colleges and universities. However, TWC does not grant academic credit.

Please consult with your campus liaison or faculty advisor to see if you may be able to earn academic credit for your experience. If you need help identifying your campus liaison or faculty advisor, please contact info@twc.edu.

Eligibility

To be eligible to participate in this seminar, you must meet following criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Be in good standing at your college or university.
  • Maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Students with lower GPAs may be considered.
  • Get approval from a campus liaison or faculty sponsor.
  • If receiving credit, commit to fully participate in the program and complete all assignments.
